Operation Smile

Operation Smile is one of the largest medical volunteer-based nonprofit organizations. It provides life-saving reconstructive cleft surgeries with continuous updates to improve overall surgical safety, quality, and capacity worldwide.  With an experience of 35 years, Operation Smile (OSI) has mobilized thousands of medical volunteers in different medical specialties from more than 80 countries and has provided hundreds of thousands of safe surgeries for those born with cleft lip and cleft palate.

Operation Smile Jordan

Operation Smile Jordan (OSJ), is a Jordanian NGO registered since 2004 with the Ministry of Social Development. OSJ is part of the global alliance of Operation Smile foundations, and aims at providing comprehensive and timely care to patients in Jordan and neighboring countries including free reconstructive surgery and medical treatment to patients suffering from cleft lip and palate and other facial deformities, including, in addition to scars and burns.

Since 2000, Operation Smile has carried out over 30 missions, assisting more than 3,000 cases (Cases included Jordanian, Palestinian, Iraqi, and Syrian patients ) in Jordan.

OSJ offers dental consultations and has an active speech clinic that provides speech therapy for children with cleft lip and palate continuously. OSJ had an AHA training center and plans to relaunch its activities.
