Operation Smile Jordan (OSJ) is a Jordanian NGO registered since 2004 with the Ministry of Social Development, that aims at providing comprehensive and timely care to children in Jordan and neighboring countries, including free reconstructive surgery and medical treatment to patients affected by cleft lip and palate conditions, and other conditions including scars and burns.
Operation Smile Jordan is part of a global alliance of Operation Smile foundations and chapters dedicated to providing free treatment to children and adults affected by cleft conditions.
Since 2000, Operation Smile Jordan has carried out over 30 missions, assisting more than 3,000 cases including Jordanian, Palestinian, Iraqi, and Syrian patients in Jordan. In October 2004, Operation Smile Jordan became a registered, independent, legal and financial entity (NGO) under the Ministry of Social Development, while the first board of directors was elected in January 2005.
Operation Smile Jordan conducts a certified American Heart Association(AHA) life support training by offering basic life support training to medical professionals and community members.
In addition to a Speech Pathology Clinic that offers year-round speech therapy consultations by a team of certified speech pathologists.
