Dr. Zaid Baqain is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Dubai and Jordan, and a Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) in Dubai/UAE and the University of Jordan. He is an academic administrator with a strong passion for education and research. His expertise spans several years in leadership and education. His research interests include hard tissue surgery of the jaws, dental implantology, and education in health sciences. He has published more than 60 articles in peer reviewed journals, with publications cited by international guidelines.

Professor Baqain served as the Deputy Vice Chancellor for International Relations, and Dean of Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences. Prior to that, he was the Vice President for Scientific Schools at the University of Jordan, and Dean of the School of Dentistry. His current appointments include the Vice Chairmanship of the Arab Board for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and Member on the Board of Trustees of Jordan Society for Education. 

Professor Baqain’s past memberships included those of the Jordan Medical Council, the Board of Trustees for Isra University, Board of the Jordanian Dental Association and Vice President of the OMFS Society. He is an alumnus of the Senior Dental Leaders and the International Visitor Leadership Programs. He also founded the British Universities Alumni Association in Jordan.

Professor Baqain is currently the Provost of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) and continues his clinical practice at the Dubai Dental Hospital and MBRU affiliated hospitals in Dubai.
