About Us

Operation Smile Jordan (OSJ), is a Jordanian non-profit organization registered in 2004 with the Ministry of Social Development under registration number(1476). OSJ is part of the global alliance of Operation Smile International (OSI), which was established in 1982.

We aim at providing comprehensive and timely care to children affected by cleft conditions in Jordan and neighboring countries, including free reconstructive surgery and medical treatment, in addition to children suffering from scars and burns.

Since 2000, Operation Smile Jordan has been providing free, life-changing cleft surgeries to children in need, carrying out over 40 missions, and assisting more than 4000 cases including Jordanian, Palestinian, Iraqi, and Syrian children.

Operation Smile Jordan has a speech clinic that was established as part of postoperative comprehensive care provided to patients after surgeries; each patient requires a 1 to 3 years treatment plan provided by our professional speech and language therapist.

The organization is currently working on plans to expand services to include orthodontics care, awareness, and other services required for newly born children.

In addition, Operation Smile Jordan is a certified American Heart Association (AHA) life support training center. The Roma Downey Life Support Training Center provides medical professionals with Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and other AHA training certificates.

The Roma Downey Life Support Training Center provides medical professionals with Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) training in accordance with Operation Smile’s International Training Organization accreditation with the American Heart Association.
