OS Jordan completed its first burn mission at Al Nadeem hospital, Madaba. The mission took place from the 19th to the 23rd of November, 2021.
On the first day of the mission, we screened over 50 cases of cleft and burns; 20 burn cases were chosen for surgeries, and we will be following up with the remainder of the patients later, according to the need and priority.
This resulted in 20 successful surgeries being implemented for burn patients, and the POST OP was done after a week at the OS Jordan center in Amman.
The medical team during the mission included specialist plastic and reconstructive surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses, in addition to volunteers from the Jordanian University that helped in the organization.
During the mission the team followed OSI COVID regulations and guidelines, as there was a team of volunteers who was responsible to ensure that the guidelines were followed throughout the mission.
OS Jordan pledged that this mission would be the beginning of the implementation of bi-annual missions in an effort to provide comprehensive care for burn patients
